Thank you for a successful event!

On October 28th, 2017 we conducted our 9th Play for Patrick youth heart screen.  We screened 240 kids and the results are as follows;

  • 4 Abnormal results (3 structural, 1 electrical)
  • 5 Normal with minor variant (electrical)
  • 6 Hypertension
    • Our volunteer Physicians recommended to each of these kids to follow up with a cardiologist, or primary care physician
  • 210 kids/parents taught how to perform CPR & use an AED

We would like to thank our volunteers for their time, talent & support.  You helped make it a wonderful day and make a difference for the kids and their families.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Eastview’s Dr. Peterson, AD Matt Percival, Joan Mullaney, custodial staff, National Honor Society, PAK, girls volleyball and the boy’s hockey for your support and helping us with this life saving event.

In addition to providing free heart screens, the foundation donates AED devices.  We were honored to present Matt Percival with a portable AED device for use during athletic activities & events.  Because of this donation, the Minnesota NHL Alumni Association donated another AED device for the Apple Valley Teen Center (Located behind Eastview HS).  We would like to thank MN NHL Alumni president Brad Maxwell and Advanced First Aid owner Paul Mendoza for helping us make the Teen Center heart safe.

Our upcoming screens are November 18th @ White Bear Lake HS and January 13th @ Eagan Civic arena for the 3rd annual Play for Patrick Bantam Hockey Tournament.  We look forward to being at Eastview again next year.

Play with Heart and Play for Patrick!
