Many thanks to @PLHSLakers @PLLakers Staff, Students and Activities Director Russ Reetz (@rreetz) for having us and being great hosts and to Craig Barkley and members of @lakerslax for helping us set up and take down; Prior Lake Youth Hockey, Prior Lake Athletics for Youth and the PLHS community members for sharing their time, money and energy to make this happen.   We presented an  AED to Russ as a small token of appreciation for your support, though we hope you'll never need this important added layer of protection in community.

Once again we would like to recognize Jason Anderson and his team @PhilipsNA for loaning us 3 CX50 ultrasound units.  This is the 12th time Jason & Philips have come through for us.  Our sonographers are the best and they deserve to use the best equipment available.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for spending the day with us.  We appreciate your time, energy, talent and commitment to help us screen young hearts and save lives.  To our attending doctors on Saturday: Bart Laihinen, Kate Moody, Jay Traverse and Karen Hick, thank you for listening to young hearts and sharing your knowledge with the kids and their parents.

Last, but certainly not least, we extend a huge thank you to Dr. Bob Wilson and his wonderful wife Betsy.  They changed their plans to help us all day Saturday, after a few physicians had to cancel at the last minute.  Their kindness, generosity and support make this world a better place.

This was our last screen of the 17-18 school year.  We are working on the 18-19 school year schedule.  So far we have Eastview HS scheduled for Saturday October 27th - registration won't open for a while - follow our Facebook Page for updates!

In the meantime, we will be updating our equipment, processes and procedures.  We hope to raise $40,000 to purchase 2 more used Philips CX50 ultrasound units. If you would like to donate, please visit our gofundme page:

We will also be working hard to recruit more physicians to assist us at our screens.  We donate AEDs and provide free heart screens to ALL kids ages 14-18 and that takes money and cardiologists to make it happen.  If you can help, please contact Mike Schoonover (

Thank you for your continued support.
